(HBO) - On October 6, at Tay Phong market, the Youth Communist Union of Cao Phong District coordinated with the Youth Communist Union of Tay Phong commune to implement the model "The residential market reducing plastic waste”; launching a team of young volunteers to participate in the construction of a residential market reducing plastic waste.

The Youth Communist Union of Cao Phong district are donating plastic lanes to people going to the market. 

At the program, the district’s Youth Communist Union district have given 10 plastic lanes to the people, introduced and donated 200 paper bags to the small traders in the market. The youth union members and the youth have propagated about the harmful effects of plastic bags and disposable plastic items to the environment; encouraging the people to use alternative products such as: using paper bags, cloth bags, environmentally friendly bags, biodegradable organic garbage bags; using shopping lanes instead of single-use plastic bags; limiting the abuse of plastic bags when it is not necessary; setting up the awareness of the green environment protection. Each youth union member and youth will lead by example in limiting the use of single-use plastics, classifying waste at source and properly treating waste... 

The model has well received the response of a large number of small businesses and the people, contributing to raising the awareness of environmental protection. Thereby, it is necessary to take practical actions to reduce plastic waste in business and daily life.
