In general, the socio-economic picture of Cao Phong district in 2022 is prosperious, opening up new development opportunities in 2023.

An important contribution to creating the bright colors for the socio-economic development picture of the whole district is the positive development of the agricultural production and the new rural construction. According to the review of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the weather is relatively favorable for the agricultural production in 2022. Thanks to the application of the scientific and technological advances, the farmers have accumulated experience with good care and timely pest control, the productivity and output of some main crops and livestock have increased. In particular, the price of the key agricultural products such as oranges, purple sugarcane, and white sugarcane have increased. The people were excited when there was a bumper crop in the agricultural products and the price was good. For the citrus fruit trees, the district has been maintaining an area of about 1,744.4 hectares, with an estimated output of over 20,000 tons. At the same time, the district has actively implemented the plan to carry out the citrus replanting project in the period of 2021 - 2025. Along with that, the National Target Program on building new rural areas has been smoothly implemented. By the end of 2022, the average has reached 18,11 criteria every commune. The district’s People's Committee has directed the People's Committee of Binh Thanh and Hop Phong communes to complete the dossier to request the provincial People's Committee to consider and recognize the commune meeting the new rural standards in 2022.

The year of 2022 has also recorded the prosperity in the district's tourism sector. With the opening of tourism from March 15, the district with the the whole province have actively implemented activities to stimulate tourism demand. The total tourists to the district in the year are estimated at 290,000 turns of arrival with the total revenue of 130 billion VND, sharply increasing compared to that of the previous year. In addition, the commercial and service activities have been quite active when the people's daily life has been in the normal state before Covid-19 epidemic because the epidemic has been under control, the entertainment and tourism activities are all back in the normal state. The situation of goods supply and demand in the district has been guaranteed. The market movements continue to be stable, there is no shortage of goods or price fever; the essential items are provided in full and in a timely manner for the production and life. The management of markets, prices, anti-smuggling, counterfeiting and commercial fraud continues to be strengthened... These are the positive developments, contributing to the economic development. According to the statistics of the District People's Committee, the economic growth rate in 2022 is estimated at 8.9%, exceeding the set plan; per capita income has reached 56 million dongs, exceeding the set plan. The economic structure continues to shift in a positive direction. By the end of 2022, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors account for 38%; the industry- handicraft, construction account for 31.7%; the service account for 30.3%.

Mr. Quach Van Ngoan, the Chairman of Cao Phong District’s People's Committee, acknowledges: In 2022, although Covid-19 epidemic has been controlled, creating the favorable conditions for socio-economic recovery and development, there are still many difficulties and challenges. The District’s People's Committee has directed and administered drastically, consistently, promptly, flexibly and effectively, with the focus on the tasks and solutions proposed in the fields. At the same time, the arising problems have been proactively responded and promptly handled; both focusing on prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic and promoting the economic recovery and development. Thereby, the socio-economic development has achieved the positive results with the 20 targets achieved and exceeded the set plan. The national target programs in the area have been implemented drastically and effectively. The social security and welfare have been taken care of. The culture, education and training, labor and employment have been paid attention to. National defense, political security and social order are ensured. With these comprehensive results, the district has an important motivation to implement the socio-economic development task in 2023, creating the momentum to achieve the goal of achieving the standard of the new rural district by 2025.
