Stretching over 300 meters, valued at hundreds of million dong and built to the new-style rural standards, a concrete road in De hamlet, Bac Phong commune, Cao Phong district, was completed by the end of 2023 thanks to the collective contributions of armed forces at provincial and district levels coupled with the active participation of military units stationed throughout the district.

According to Colonel Vu Thanh Nam, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the provincial Military Command, the road is among many rural infrastructure projects that saw the active and effective involvement of military units stationed in Hoa Binh.

In recent times, these units have mobilised 11,132 working days of soldiers and over 1,000 vehicles to assist in agricultural production, environmental sanitation, and housing repairs for local residents. Thousands of soldiers have participated in the maintenance and repair of over 40 kilometres of rural roads and the renovation of 8.5 kilometres of inter-village and inter-commune roads to the new-style rural standards. They have also dredged over 100 kilometres of ditches and 30.9 kilometers of internal canals, aided 24 policy beneficiary families and impoverished households with housing repairs, and helped relocate 48 households from landslide-prone areas.

Additionally, up to now, these units, in coordination with local authorities, have built 37 "Cultural and Defence Villages," yielding practical results. They have distributed gifts, clothing, books, and stationery to disadvantaged students, poor households, and policy beneficiary families. The units have also joined the organisation of health check-ups, free medication provision, and gifts distribution, which benefited over 5,000 impoverished individuals and policy beneficiaries, while handing out 113 savings books worth over 1 billion VND (41,667 USD) to the groups.

The provincial armed forces and units stationed within the province regularly maintain strict guard duty regarding disaster prevention, search and rescue, and fire prevention and fighting. Between 2023 and now, 1,513 officers and soldiers as well as 120 vehicles have been mobilised for search-rescue and fire prevention-control efforts.

From these outcomes as well as many specific and practical action plans, the units have joined local law enforcement and military forces to maintain political security, social order, serving the increasing charm and prosperity of the land of the Muong ethnic group.
