A delegation of the Northern Power Corporation (NPC) led by its General Director Nguyen Duc Thien had a meeting with the Party Committee of Hoa Binh province on August 6 to discuss measures to remove difficulties in implementing power projects in the province.
The meeting saw the participation of Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member
of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee;
Quach Tat Liem, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; leaders of
local departments and agencies; standing members of Party Committees of
districts and Hoa Binh city; and representatives from Hoa Binh Power Company.

Currently, the NPC is implementing eight 110kV
projects in Hoa Binh province, including four new line transmission projects,
three new transformer station ones and another on a transmission line from the
Yen Thuy 220kV transformer station.
All the projects are expected to complete by
between the end of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025. Once completed, the
projects will help meet the electricity demand of cement factories, avoid
overload and ensure power supply for local socio-economic development.
In the 2021-2030 period, the province plans to
add eight industrial parks, bringing the total area of industrial parks to
3,569 ha. In the 2024-2025 period, the province’s total
registered capacity is 252.6MW; commercial electricity output by 2025 is
expected to be about 1.639 billion kWh, with average growth of 10.20% per year.
However, power projects in the province are
facing difficulties and obstacles relating to investment procedures, site
clearance, planning and prices.
The NPC proposed that the Hoa Binh provincial
People’s Committee will direct the People's Committees of districts and Hoa
Binh city to hand over land for power projects in advance and coordinate with
the Hoa Binh Power Company to compenstate households who have to relocate for
power works.
The NPC General Director agreed on the solutions
and orientations that delegates raised and discussed at the meeting. He hoped that in the coming time, Hoa Binh
province and the NPC will strengthen coordination in implementing the projects
and removing difficulties. He suggested assigning the Hoa Binh Power
Company with task of taking responbility for organsing the implementation of
the projects, and providing updated information for relevant parties. The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee
thanked the NPC for investing in power infrastructure and ensuring power supply
for the province’s production, businsess and people’s dailylife activities.
In the coming time, the province will promote
attracting investment from large enterprises to develop high-tech industry,
service tourism, clean agriculture, so its demand for electricity is very
large, Long noted, calling for further coordination with the power sector for
socio-economic development.
He asked the NPC to strengthen coordination with
the provincial departments and agencies to review planning, remove
difficulties, and direct activities of the Hoa Binh Power Company's activities. He also asked departments, agencies, People's
Committees of districts and Hoa Binh city to speed up the process of approving
investment proposals for power projects, completing site clearance
and improve the power supply system in the province.
In Hoa Binh province, 11 traditional craft villages with more than 400 small-scaled production households have put in place a clean and green production model, establishing new standards for sustainable development. Waste collection sites and wastewater treatment facilities have been meticulously managed by local residents.
