The organising board for the Hoa Binh Culture and Tourism Week 2024 has officially released its press statement.

Taking place from November 15 to 23 in Hoa Binh City, the programme is hosted by the provincial People’s Committee. This significant annual event aims to promote the province's stunning natural landscapes and the rich heritage of its ethnic communities. It will also spotlight nationally recognised archaeological sites in the area, such as the Xom Trai cave and Lang Vanh stone shelter, and a range of captivating tourist destinations, while showcasing local products, including fish and shrimp from Da river and distinctive OCOP (One Community One Product) farm produce. 

The main activities scheduled for the programme include: 

River worship and lantern release on the Da river: November 15, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, at the Da river pedestrian street in Phuong Lam ward, Hoa Binh city. 

Art photography exhibition, titled "Cultural and Tourism Charms of Hoa Binh": November 16, 3:00 PM, lasting through November 18, at Hoa Binh square. 

The official recognition ceremony for special national heritage sites (Xom Trai cave and Lang Vanh stone shelter) and opening ceremony of the culture and tourism week: November 16, from 7:30 PM to 10:10 PM, at Hoa Binh square. 

Sightseeing tours on Hoa Binh Lake: November 17, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, showcasing various tourist destinations around the lake. 

Opening ceremony of ethnic costume festival: November 17, at 8:00 PM, at Hoa Binh square. 

Tour guide competition: November 18, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, at AP Plaza Hotel’s conference hall, Hoa Binh city. 

Can wine night festival: November 18, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, at Hoa Binh square. 

Forum on agricultural tourism, green growth, and sustainable development: November 19, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM, at the Hoa Binh convention centre, Tan Thinh ward, Hoa Binh city. 

Opening ceremony of the 2nd Hoa Binh Da river fish-shrimp festival: November 19, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, at the Hoa Binh exhibition and trade centre. 

Sport fishing competition on Da river in association with culture-tourism promotion: November 20, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, at Ba Cap port, Thai Binh ward, Hoa Binh city. 

Fish release to replenish aquatic resources in Hoa Binh hydropower lake: November 20, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, at Ba Cap port. 

Awards ceremony of the sport fishing competition: November 20, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, at Hoa Binh Hotel, 367 An Duong Vuong street, Phuong Lam ward, Hoa Binh city. 

Closing Ceremony of the 2nd Hoa Binh Da river fish-shrimp festival: November 23, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, at the Hoa Binh exhibition and trade centre.

A working delegation of the Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee led by its Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Toan on June 11 inspected the progress of a project to build the Mo Muong Cultural Heritage Conservation Space linked to tourism services in Hop Phong commune, Cao Phong district.

A “fire keeper” of Muong culture

Born and growing in the heroic land of Muong Dong, Dinh Thi Kieu Dung, a resident in Bo town of Kim Boi district, in her childhood was nurtured by the sweet lullabies of her grandmother and mother. These melodies deeply imprinted on her soul, becoming an inseparable part of her love for her ethnic group's culture. For over 20 years, this love for her hometown has driven Dung to research, collect, and pass down the cultural values of the Muong people to future generations.

In the final days of May, the Ethnic Art Troupe of Hoa Binh Province organized performances to serve the people in remote, mountainous, and particularly disadvantaged areas within the province. These were not just ordinary artistic shows, but they were the meaningful journeys aimed at spreading cultural values, enhancing the spiritual life of the people and contributing to the preservation of ethnic minority cultural identities.
