Preparations for the 2025 Fish Praying and Flower Lantern Releasing Festival on the Da River have been in full swing since mid-June. From Hoa Binh Bridge to Da Giang Walking Street, the area has been adorned with vibrant festival flags and banners. More than just a spiritual and cultural event, the festival symbolizes a new beginning for the riverside city in transformation.

Final preparations are being completed at the organizing site for the Fish Praying and Flower Lantern Releasing Festival on the Da River.

According to the plan approved by the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC), the festival will take place on the evening of June 23, 2025, at the flower garden area along Da Giang Walking Street, Phuong Lam Ward (Hoa Binh City). Intending to return to cultural roots and offer prayers for national prosperity, peace, and favorable weather, the Fish Praying Festival is expected to become an artistic, spiritual, and tourism highlight for the province.

The Hoa Binh Provincial Agricultural Extension Center—tasked with advising on the event’s organization—has promptly assisted the PPC in establishing an Organizing Committee and assigning clear responsibilities to each participating department and sector. Comprehensive plans covering security, health, and traffic management have been coordinated by key agencies, including the Provincial Police, the Department of Health, the Department of Construction, and the Hoa Binh City People's Committee. Emergency response teams, traffic controllers, power supply units, and fire safety personnel have all been mobilized to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.

As of now, all logistical and technical preparations are complete. The outdoor stage system, equipped with modern sound, lighting, and LED screens, has been rapidly installed. The event area has been thoroughly cleaned and decorated with festive lights, signage, and banners along the bridge and riverbanks, creating a solemn yet vibrant atmosphere.

This year’s festival will feature a series of special activities, including a welcoming art performance, the traditional fish praying ritual, the release of flower lanterns on the Da River, and a fireworks display. A standout feature of the event is the performance by 400 Muong ethnic artisans, showcasing a grand gong ensemble - an invocation to the sacred spirits of the rivers and mountains, harmonizing tradition with contemporary rhythm.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Nhuan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Festival Organizing Committee, emphasized: "This year’s Fish Praying and Flower Lantern Releasing Festival is not only a traditional ritual rich in cultural identity, but also a tribute to the Da River - the source of life and development for Hoa Binh City. It marks an important milestone in shaping the city’s image as a riverside destination of culture, tourism, and integration.”

The 2025 Fish Praying and Flower Lantern Releasing Festival reflects Hoa Binh Province’s strong commitment to harmonizing tradition with modernity. The event will be widely promoted through press coverage and social media to spread the message of a dynamic, open, and culturally rich Hoa Binh.

The Da River, carrier of time, memory, and hope will once again glow with the light of thousands of floating lanterns. Each lantern, adrift on the current, carries with it not only prayers for peace and good weather but also heartfelt gratitude from the people of Hoa Binh to their mother river. On the threshold of a new journey, the festival is both a sacred ritual and a gesture of reverence by today’s generation for the quiet blessings bestowed by nature. From this festival, the riverside city draws renewed energy, ready to embark on a new path, rising from the strength of its enduring values.
