In the final days of May, the Ethnic Art Troupe of Hoa Binh Province organized performances to serve the people in remote, mountainous, and particularly disadvantaged areas within the province. These were not just ordinary artistic shows, but they were the meaningful journeys aimed at spreading cultural values, enhancing the spiritual life of the people and contributing to the preservation of ethnic minority cultural identities.

The artists from Hoa Binh Provincial Ethnic Art Troupe are performing in Dong Nang hamlet, Dong Bac commune, Kim Boi district.

At the Cultural House of Dong Nang hamlet, Dong Bac commune, Kim Boi district, the space was filled with joyful laughter, applause and vibrant music. The melodies and dances were rich with the cultural colors of Muong, Dao and Thai ethnic groups. The Ethnic Art Troupe presented a performance themed "Echoes of Muong Harmony”, which is a spiritual gift to the people who have limited access to professional art.

Mr. Bui Van Binh, a local resident of Dong Nang hamlet, emotionally says: "It’s been a long time since we’ve been happy like this. Every performance is great, and everyone claps wholeheartedly. Listening to songs about our homeland and the Party makes me feel warm inside. It’s not just singing, it brings faith to the people.”

This program is part of a series of activities by the Ethnic Art Troupe of Hoa Binh Province, carried out under Plan No. 31/KH-DNTCDT, dated February 14, 2025. Accordingly, the troupe would perform in Zones II and III of Da Bac, Lac Son, Kim Boi and Cao Phong districts, the areas where people still face economic difficulties and limited cultural access.

Ms. Trieu Thi Le Thuy, the Deputy Head of the Ethnic Art Troupe of the province, says: "For us, this is not just a performance plan, it’s also a mission. Each trip to the remote areas breathes new life into the arts and spreads inspiration. The people here deeply love art, and they receive it with warmth and enthusiasm. The program is thoughtfully crafted and it is artistically rich yet still close to local life.”

In addition to performances such as "Broad Roads Ahead”, "Youth Devoted to the Party”, "You Are Our Absolute Faith”, the program also featured culturally rich ethnic minority performances like the solo song "Returning to My Muong”, the dance "Brocade Painting”, the duet "Love Brew”, and especially the dance "Being Graceful with Dao Village”, which showcased distinctive folk elements.

The interaction segment with the local amateur art teams created a warm, close-knit atmosphere between the artists and the community. The program also effectively integrated the dissemination of Party and State policies through songs, narration, and artistic content. The messages about building a cultural life, new rural development, and socio-economic growth in ethnic minority regions were delivered gently yet profoundly, raising community awareness.

The program will run throughout the second quarter of 2025, traveling through many remote villages in Da Bac, Lac Son, Kim Boi and Cao Phong districts. Each performance night is not just about dazzling lights, but it also touches the stories that linger in the hearts of both villagers and artists. For the performers, each trip is a special journey. They brave long distances, harsh weather during the rainy season, and poor infrastructure, just to perform and see the smiles of the people.

Ms. Mai Lan, the actress says: "Performing in the remote areas means no modern stage, no professional sound or lighting, but in return, we get heartfelt affection from everyone, from the elderly to children. It makes me realize how meaningful my profession is.”

According to the Deputy Head, Ms. Trieu Thi Le Thuy, the program "Echoes of Muong Harmony” contributes to preserving and promoting the cultural identities of the ethnic minorities, which are at risk of fading. When culture is vividly and intimately performed for the people, they themselves become the custodians and transmitters of that heritage. Art, when it touches the heart, becomes an invisible bond that connects communities and uplifts the human spirit in difficult times. With the dedication and passion of those in the profession, the journey of bringing art to disadvantaged areas will continue to spread, bringing joy, aspiration, and hope to every village and home in the mountains of Hoa Binh.
