In the morning of January 8, the People's Committee of Cao Phong district held the groundbreaking ceremony of the Conservation Area of Mo Muong Cultural Heritage associated with tourism in Hop Phong commune associated with tourism services in Hop Phong commune. Mr. Bui Van Thang, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and the leaders from Cao Phong district pressed the button to start the project.

The project was approved under Resolution No. 455/NQ-HDND, dated on May 11, 2021, of the Provincial People's Council, with a scale of 36.02 hectares and a total investment of 50 billion VND from the provincial budget for the period of 2021-2025. This is an important project to preserve the national intangible cultural values of Mo Muong Hoa Binh, creating the conditions for the sustainable development, and linking culture and tourism.

Making the speech at the ceremony, the leader of Cao Phong District’s People's Committee says that the project will help preserve the full value of the national culture, while it contributing to raising the public awareness of the responsibility to preserve and promote the heritage in the social life. The project will create a foundation for developing a culture imbued with the national identity, at the same time, it contributes to promoting the local socio-economic development through tourism activities. In particular, the project not only preserves the value of the cultural heritage but it also makes Mo Muong a unique tourism product, playing an important role in developing the key economic sector of Cao Phong District and Hoa Binh Province. This is an important step in implementing the roadmap of the Project on Preserving Muong Ethnic Culture and Hoa Binh Culture (2023-2030 period), creating a premise to put Mo Muong on the list of the UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. 

Making the speech at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Van Thang, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, requested that the departments and branches should coordinate and support Cao Phong district in terms of expertise and resources to ensure the progress and quality of the project. The construction units need to strictly implement and comply with the regulations on investment and construction management and ensure labor safety and environmental sanitation. Cao Phong district should strengthen propaganda and mobilize the people to create consensus during the process of the project implementation, contributing to building a model project in terms of progress management, technique, and aesthetics, maximizing the investment efficiency...
