(HBO) - Recently, the ethnic people of Van Son commune (Lac Son) were excited to attend Khenh Temple Festival. After 68 years of not being organized, up to now, Khenh Temple Festival was restored and opened on 13-14 Lunar January every year. The festival became a traditional cultural event of the Muong ethnic group in Van Son commune and surrounding areas.

Khenh Temple is
located at the foot of Khu Khenh in Van Son commune, where worships the
predecessors of merit with the Muong ethnic people, supporting the Muong Khenh
ethnic people for peace, fresh crops, healthy people, livestock always growing
and breeding.
Dinh Khanh is also a
place for worshiping gods who have helped the Muong ethnic people.
Khenh Temple
Festival was held at Khenh temple on the 12th and 13th of Lunar January
according to the Muong ethnic calendar (it means on the 13th day, 14th of Lunar
January). This is a traditional folk belief festival of the Muong ethnic people
in Van Son commune, Lac Son district closely connected with Khenh Temple. The
characters worshiped in the temple are Mr. Truong Tin, Ms. Trieu An; Mr. Tuc Co,
Quan Da, Mr. Phu, Ms. Phu: the holders of the flags, seals, signals ...;
General Cai Do, Cai Dao; the guy Bong Huong, Ms. Thom; Mr. Hien, Mrs. Hieu. For
some objective and subjective reasons, due to the country's circumstances
during the war and extremely difficult socio-economic lives, from the 1950s to
2017, the festival was not organized and being at risk.
In order to preserve
and promote the traditional cultural values of the Muong ethnic group, the
People's Committee of Lac Son district has coordinated with the Department of
Culture, Sports and Tourism to gradually complete the scientific dossier and make
a request for the restoration of communal house and Khenh Temple Festival, Van
Son commune. On 4th January, 2018, the provincial People's Committee
issued Official Letter No. 06 / UBND-KGVX on agreeing the policy of restoring
and organizing the Khenh Temple Festival. The festival renders the ceremony of
remembrance of those who have merit combined with the reproduction of the
memorial legend; praying for favorable rain, good wind, good crops, everyone is
healthy. The festival has become a traditional cultural event of the Muong
ethnic community in Van Son commune and surrounding areas.
The restoration of
Khenh Temple Festival is a source of encouragement and support of the Party
Committee, authorities and people of Van Son Commune in particular, Lac Son
District in general, in preserving, storing and promoting the material and non-material
cultural heritages, contributing to protecting and promoting the value of
historical-cultural relics and sceneries in the district.
With an increasingly vibrant and widespread emulation movement aimed at building cultured residential areas and cultured families, Yen Thuy District has been making steady progress toward improving both the material and spiritual well-being of its people, while fostering a civilized, prosperous, beautiful, and progressive community.
Once lacking recreational spaces and community facilities, Residential Group 2 in Quynh Lam Ward (Hoa Binh City) has recently received attention for the construction of a new, spacious, and fully equipped cultural house. The project followed the model of state support combined with public contributions in both labor and funding.
The "All people unite to build cultural life" movement, which has been effectively integrated with Kim Boi district’s socio-economic development goals, is fostering a lively spirit of emulation across local residential areas, hamlets, villages, public agencies, and enterprises. In addition, through the initiative, traditional cultural values are being preserved and promoted, while community solidarity and mutual support in poverty reduction and economic development are being strengthened.
A working delegation of the Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee led by its Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Toan on June 11 inspected the progress of a project to build the Mo Muong Cultural Heritage Conservation Space linked to tourism services in Hop Phong commune, Cao Phong district.
Born and growing in the heroic land of Muong Dong, Dinh Thi Kieu Dung, a resident in Bo town of Kim Boi district, in her childhood was nurtured by the sweet lullabies of her grandmother and mother. These melodies deeply imprinted on her soul, becoming an inseparable part of her love for her ethnic group's culture. For over 20 years, this love for her hometown has driven Dung to research, collect, and pass down the cultural values of the Muong people to future generations.
In the final days of May, the Ethnic Art Troupe of Hoa Binh Province organized performances to serve the people in remote, mountainous, and particularly disadvantaged areas within the province. These were not just ordinary artistic shows, but they were the meaningful journeys aimed at spreading cultural values, enhancing the spiritual life of the people and contributing to the preservation of ethnic minority cultural identities.
