(HBO) - For a long time, the movement of mass culture has become an indispensable spiritual dish for the people of all ethnic groups in Cao Phong district. The clubs and art teams have been established and regularly maintained the operation, which has effectively exploited the traditional cultural values to serve the people inside and outside the district, contributing to preserving and promoting the national cultural identity.


The members of the ethnic musical instrument club in Nam Phong commune (Cao Phong) are practicing to have good performances serving the local people.

As a rule, every Saturday and Sunday evening, the members of the Nam Phong Ethnic Instrument Club gather at the club's president's house to practice and rehearse music, folk songs, dances and so on. Mr. Bui Van Phuc, the Chairman of Nam Phong Ethnic Instrument Club says: In 2012, the club was established with 18 members. They are all the people who are knowledgeable and passionate about folk songs, dances and musical instruments, and they have the desire to contribute to preserving and conserving the traditional culture. The club’s activities have created the conditions for the people to exchange, talk, create cohesion, guide how to practice the musical performances, folk songs, folk dances..., which has enriched the spiritual life. In addition, the core actors and artists in the art teams and clubs have continued teaching the children folk songs and musical instruments, making the local cultural activities more and more develop.

It can be seen that the highlight of the district's movement of mass culture is the active participation of the people with passion and love for singing, the artisans, the people who are knowledgeable about folklore and ethnic musical instruments, and they wish that the lyrics, singing and dancing contribute to preserving and conserving the traditional culture. Mr. Bui Ngoc Thuan, the Chairman of the Folklore Club in Bung 1 hamlet, Thu Phong commune, says: The folklore club has been established to gather and create the playground so that the enthusiasts of the ethnic musical instruments can sing, practice, compose and perform the musical instruments and Muong folk tunes to a large number of people in the region. Thereby, it há been contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional culture imbued with the national identity in the locality.

Mr. Bui Van Nhat, the Head of the District’s Culture and Sports Department, says: Currently, there are 88 art teams at the grassroots in the whole district, 6 clubs of Muong gong and folk singing, the club of the ethnic musical instrument and one team of the district’s mobile propaganda. Most of the clubs and art teams have been active in the funds to buy costumes and musical instruments for practice and performance. This is the core force that regularly serves the propaganda of the Party’s political tasks, undertakings and guidelines, the State’s policies, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere in production and spiritual life of the People. The clubs and the mass art teams have been active, attracting the participation of a large number of people. On the occasions of holidays, New Year and major anniversaries of the country and the locality, the communes the towns hold many welcoming cultural activities. The lyrics, the singing and the dancing performed by the local actors and artists have been creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for local the People.

With a view to creating the favorable conditions for the mass art teams to develop and operate effectively, the district has strengthened its facilities, invested and upgraded the cultural institutions. Every year, in addition to the festivals, the performances and the contests of the district, the agencies and units also organize many performances, art festivals, contests and mass art shows, which has actively been contributing in mobilizing the whole people’s participation in building a cultural life and gradually improving the spiritual life of the people.

The movement of mass culture is an indispensable spiritual dish in the daily life of the People. In order to maintain and develop the movement of mass culture, the district will continue to build and replicate the model of the clubs and art teams in the coming time.
