The road network of Xam Khoe Commune (Mai Chau) is invested in basic
standard constructions to meet the
demand of traveling and trading goods of the local people.
Mai Chau is considered as one of the
typical localities implementing the socialization of rural transport. On
average, every year, Mai Chau district mobilizes resources from 60-70 billion
VND, in which socialization is over 20 billion VND. In 2017, the total
resources for rural transport development in the district was over 76 billion
VND, of which the local people contributed 20 billion VND of salary and working
days and donated 11,795, 3 m2 of land to build rural roads. 5/22 communes met
the criteria of No. 2 are Tong Dau, Chieng Chau, Mai Ha, Dong Bang, and Xam
Khoe. In 2018, Mai Chau is striving to have more 8 communes meeting the
criteria of No. 2.
Every year, the district implements a
campaign month for the entire population to participate in building rural
transport, intensifying the inspection, detecting and timely overcoming the
damaged transport works. In 2018, the district has plans to regularly repair
and maintain the district and inter-commune roads of over 40 km; to upgrade and
renovate over 11 km of district and inter-commune roads; to open new roads,
upgrade village roads, internal villages over 20 km, etc.

Chau District People's Committee, said: Through the actual implementation of
rural development criteria in building new rural area, we draw some
experiences: We need to focus on regular guides and directions, synchronize and
mobilize the participation of the entire political system in mobilizing
capital, the quality supervision and protection of the people's transport
infrastructure. In investment, there should be a clear mechanism about the
support of the State and the contribution of the local people; It is necessary
to announce specific guidelines for each construction site, such as 100%
investment by the State or only investment in the expense of the construction
and installation to mobilize people to donate land and crops on the same land
to build roads. In the propaganda and mobilization tasks of people and the
socialization of rural roads, the method should be suitable for each target. We
also promote the pioneering role, model of staff, party members and prestige
people in the community, especially the role of community supervision with the
motto "People know, people do, people check, people get beneficiaries
"through the democracy policies in the area.
