The festival of the voluntary blood donation of Mai Chau district in 2021 has attracted the participation of a large number of people.
Mr. Kha Van Dien, the Chairman of the district’s Red Cross said: "The district’s Red Cross has actively called on the sponsors and the benefactors to organize many exciting and widespread activities towards the target group of the people having dificult circumstances in the remote areas of the locality”.
Since the beginning of the year, the Red Cross has promoted the implementation of the work of the social security, coordinating with other organizations and individuals to organize the humanitarian activities in many forms. They are the financial and necessity support, home repair, donating cows, bicycles, scholarships for the people with difficult circumstances, the disabled, the poor children. The movements and campaigns such as: "Tet for the poor and the victims of Agent Orange”, "Each organization and individual attaches to a humanitarian address”, "The humanitarian month” have been implemented, which has been creating a widespread and practical effect. The total value of the humanitarian activities has reached over 2 billion VND, helping over 4,000 people having difficult circumstances since the beginning of the year.
Implementing the movement "Tet for the poor and the victims of Agent Orange”, the district’s Red Cross awarded more than 3,700 sets of gifts with a total of nearly 1.5 billion VND to the households having difficult circumstances and the victims of Agent Orange during the Lunar New Year 2021. The movement "Each organization and individual attaches to a humanitarian address”, the Red Cross and the other branches and mass organizations have supported and provided the monthly support for 10 households with particularly difficult circumstances with the amount of 300,000 VND a household a month, and the total value is 35 million VND.
Deploying the plan for "The Humanitarian Month”, the units and the individuals have contributed over 50 million VND. Thereby, they have presented gifts and encouraged the poor households in the area. They have coordinated with thai Binh volunteering club to present 6 sets of gifts with the total value of nearly 30 million VND to the poor households in Dong Tan commune. They have also cooperated with Hanoi Postal Insurance to give 50 sets of gifts with a total value of 20 million VND to the households in Son Thuy commune. Besides, they have coordinated with Vingroup to give seeds and money with a total value of 338 million VND to the households in Cun Pheo, Thanh Son, Pa Co. They have colaborated with Want Want Company to distribute 420 packages of confectionery to the poor households in Son Thuy commune, Dong Tan. The models of "the Humanitarian fund box”, "Lighting up dreams”, Bank of Cow”, free distributing medical face masks, free medical examination ... have been effectively implemented, and many people in the area have benefited.
Thanks to strongly promoting the propaganda, the movement of voluntary blood donation has actively launched by the district’s Red Cross and it has spread widely. The festival of voluntary blood donation in 2021 held in the district has attracted the participation of nearly 1,500 people, getting 1,179 units of blood, which has reached 193% of the plan assigned by the province. During the complicated development of Covid-19 epidemics, the Red Cross has continued to propagate and mobilize people’s participation in voluntary blood donation with the hope to save the lives of many patients in need of blood for treatment.
Being at the festival of voluntary blood donation in 2021, Ms. Vi Thi Hanh from Mai Hich commune said: "Voluntary blood donation is a noble and humane activity. I am aware that every time I donate blood, I help save life of a patient in need of blood for treatment. Therefore, I have registered many times to participate in blood donation every time the district’s Red Cross Association organizes it”.
The practical effects of the activities launched by the district’s Red Cross is sharing the kindness of the philanthropists so that they can be reached to the poor households, the people with special difficult circumstances and the disabled in the area, helping they add faith to life.
