Since the 2019-2020 academic year, the provincial education and training sector
has received support from The Dariu Foundation to launch Micro:Bit courses and
establish programming and STEM clubs for primary and secondary students.
Over the past year, the sector has reaped certain achievements. Representatives
from Hoa Binh have participated and won awards at national and regional
programming competitions, notably "Radio for Communicating with
Communities", a product developed by a group of students from Mai Hich
Primary and High School (Mai Chau).
Programming and STEM events have also been held in districts like Mai Chau, Yen
Thuy and Lac Son, which have helped students apply sciences in reality.
The Dariu Foundation has provided support for the province, from equipment to
training. It has so far presented 400 laptops, 615 smartphones and more
than 600 Micro:Bit circuits, among others to Hoa Binh.
Bui Thi Kim Tuyen, Director of the Department of Education and Training, said
in recent years, the local education and training sector has paid great
attention to the application of information technology in teaching, gradually
shifting from the traditional teaching and learning methods to active methods,
helping teachers and students bring into full play their creativity.
It can be said that technology has helped to reform educational methods and
boost the development of the sector, she said, adding that the local education
and training sector will continue utilising resources and gifts to serve
digital transformation.
With high determination, the provincial education and training sector has
launched a digital transformation programme with various synchronous and
pragmatic solutions such as investing in material facilities, mobilising
donations in information infrastructure, providing schools with equipment,
creating a digital database and personnel training.
In implementing the digital transformation programme, the major task is to
mobilise resources to effectively roll out the 2018 general education programme
under a set roadmap. At the end of the 2020-2021 school year, the province
counted 5,957 classrooms and 469 libraries, which have basically satisfied
requirements of the new education programme. However, there still remain
roadblocks in informatics teaching and learning as most of the computer
classrooms have been downgraded with outdated equipment.
The Department of Education and Training said the province needs 12,543
laptops. Meanwhile, 114 educational institutions, including 88 at pre-schools
and 26 general educational institutions, lack computer rooms.
Besides, there are difficulties and challenges facing teachers and students in
terms of IT and personal equipment to serve online learning, which requires the
local education and training sector to seek effective solutions and mobilise
more resources to push ahead with the digital transformation./.
The people in Hoa Binh province are aware of the need to build and preserve the cultural traditions and unique customs of their communities, especially those related to ethnic identities and family values which serve as foundation for a vibrant, tradition-rich Hoa Binh, enriching community life. In recent years, the province’s Party Committee, authorities, and residents have paid heed to building and developing family values and fostering human standards in the new era.
The festival of great national solidarity and culture in 2024 was held at the communal house of Da Bac district on November 5. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Toan and leaders of departments and sectors attended the event.
The Labor Federation of Da Bac district has focused on protecting workers' rights while actively participating in patriotic emulation movements to enhance the creativity and productivity of the local workforces across agencies, organisations and enterprises.
In recent years, the Women's Union of Yen Thuy district has actively contributed to the implementation of the National Target Program on building new the rural areas. The Union's activities not only help raise awareness of environmental protection for the members, the women, and the people but they also contribute to improving the appearance of rural areas and improving the quality of life.
The model of intergenerational self-help club (ISC) has been expanded in Mai Chau district over recent times, contributing to sharing and motivating the disadvantaged people, especially the elderly, to improve their lives.
Following President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings that emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, the trade union at all levels in Hoa Binh has effectively implemented patriotism emulation movements, especially the "effective, creative working” movement. Responding to the movement, local workers, public servants, and officials have proposed many creative and applicable ideas, helping spread the movement to all agencies, units, and businesses.
