(HBO) - The Muong ethnic group in the northern province of Hoa Binh has over 40 major festivals yearly, and gongs are used in up to 90% of the festivals. For the Muong people in Hoa Binh, gongs are not only a kind of traditional musical instrument, but also a "sacred treasure", a spiritual story told by 12 national tones and an intangible cultural heritage with a strong vitality as they are preserved by the community.
(HBO) - Muong Vang in Lac Son district is one of the four biggest and best-known Muong ethnic areas in Hoa Binh. With 91% of the local population being Muong ethnic people, the district has always paid special attention to preserving and developing the traditional cultural value.
(HBO) - The house-cooling ceremony is one of the traditional spiritual and cultural rituals of the Muong people in Hoa Binh province. Its purpose is to pray for good crops, good health, good luck, and repel bad luck and risks. Therefore, most families in the Muong community organise the ritual at the beginning of the year to pray for peace. By cutting down unsound customs, the house-cooling ceremony has become a typical cultural feature and an indispensable activity in many Muong families every spring.

(HBO) - On March 15, the People's Committee of Kim Boi District held a ceremony to receive the certificate of ranking the historical - cultural relic at the provincial level of Ne Temple in Xuan Thuy commune. This is one of the eight monuments that have been ranked out of a total of 29 historical and cultural relics of the district that have been inventoried.
(HBO) – The Ke Pagoda festival in Phu Vinh commune, Tan Lac district is held on the 16th day of the second lunar month every year. Previously, the festival was used to be small but since 2017, it has taken place at the communal level to meet people’s religious and entertainment needs.
(HBO) – The Muong Cultural Heritage Museum, located in Thai Binh ward of Hoa Binh city (Hoa Binh province), is managed by Meritorious Artisan Bui Thanh Binh. Covering more than 4,000 sq.m., it features six main stilt houses displaying nearly 6,000 objects arranged according to different periods of the Muong ethnic group’s culture. The museum has become an attractive destination for Vietnamese and foreign visitors over the past years.

(HBO) - On March 13, in Hoa Binh province, the emulation cluster of 7 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains held a conference to deploy the movement of patriotic emulation and signed an emulation contract in 2023. There was the attendance of the leaders from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces in the emulation cluster, including Thai Nguyen, Hoa Binh, Bac Giang, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho and Bac Kan.

(HBO) - The gongs in Muong land resounded, delighting thousands of people present at the stadium of Tan Lac district’s Phong Phu commune on the morning of the eighth day of the first lunar month. The Muong gong performance by 500 artisans and actists from four major Muong regions of Bi, Vang, Thang and Dong was the highlight in the art programme to celebrate the Khai ha (going down to the field) festival of the Muong ethnic group in Hoa Binh province in 2023.
